After serving as a U.S. Army officer in VietNam (1969-70), Chris Manning worked as a corporate banker for Bank of America for 5 years before founding Manning and Company, a venture capital firm. Between 1975-1978, Chris worked with the investment bank Houlihan Lokey’s founding partners to redevelop the Solitude Ski Resort just outside of Salt Lake City. While partnering and investing in other businesses over the next 10 years, Chris completed his Ph.D. in Management from UCLA.
Between 1992-2019, Chris excelled as a Professor of Finance, Real Estate, Entrepreneurship and NeuroLeadership at Loyola Marymount University. He has authored or co-authoring more than 30 articles published in both academic and professional journals (to include Harvard Business Review). He and Mark Waldman created and taught LMU’s first NeuroLeadership course to its Executive MBA students inspiring their co-authorship of “NeuroWisdom: The New Brain Science of Money, Happiness and Success.”
